| Our senior club instructor Sensei Alan Armstrong has been with the club since 1981. He has practiced Shotokan Karate since 1970 and holds the rank of Roku Dan (6th Dan), which was awarded to him in 20112 by the Shihankai of the Kase-ha Shotokan-ryu Karate-do Academy (KSKA) Alan was a founder member of the English Shotokan Academy and has been the Treasurer and Executive Committee member since its inception. In 2001 he was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Kase ha Shotokan ryu Karatedo Academy an international organisation created by Kase Shihan for the advancement of senior instructors from around the world. Sensei Armstrong teaches at local, national and international level. He is a member of the ESA Technical Committee, a Grading Examiner, a qualified Referee and holds the EKGB Senior Coaching Certificate Alan continues to advance his own knowledge of Shotokan Karate by travelling widely in Europe to train with other senior instructors of the International Academy |
